THE UATSI FOUNDATION empowers indigenous communities in Costa Rica to build a future free of poverty and prejudice by facilitating community owned development projects which foster a desire for self-reliance and independence.

Providing support and guidance sensitive to local knowledge, skills and needs, THE UATSI FOUNDATION strives to attain positive and sustainable change for the communities it works with.

Our code of practice - to work sustainably, sensitively & Effectively - means we involve the community in all stages of our work. Examples of past projects include building a community farm, providing solar energy to schools & water testing.

We are currently raising funds for our 2010 projects which will focus on water, sanitation, a school build and a women's organic fruit farm.
